I hate to tell you guys that i have had this bike in my garage for 17 years!
I bought it in Colorado and shortly after I bought it i moved to Austin tx.
The tank is off my bike because i am cleaning it out as it was "Kreemed" and the 17 year old gas in the tank has "compromised" the Kreem. Also the petcock is gummed up
I just saw the KZ1300 from Nevada sell for an unknown price but the asking price was ~$6000. Since I will be selling my KZ1300 I am thinking it is worth more than I previously thought. Surely it needs some work (all fluids, battery, tires, re-built carbs?) to get it back running but it ran like a beast in 2003/4.
The Paint job is nice, the tank matches of course. 18k miles
What do you guys think is a fair price range for this bike given the tank will be carefully de Kreemed (using acetone)?
tks
Dennis

I think that paint, as nice as it is, probably detracts from the value a bit. The collectors that are buying these and paying good money for them will give you points off for that, and getting that tank sorted out is no walk in the park either. I HATE those Kreem kits, and the only way to get the stuff out is with a really toxic chemical like MEK. Then after you get THAT out, you have to use a proper technique to eliminate the rust they tried to cover up! I usually use Evapo-Rust for this and it works really well. After you get the bike running and sorted out, you're looking at maybe a 5K dollar bike. Not running, I would divide that by two and be prepared to wait. The bone stocks ones will sell relatively quickly given the right audience, eBay comes to mind because of the overseas exposure, lots of classic Kaws going back across the pond nowadays!!!!

Wondering if you sold your 1300, if not; where are you and how much? I’m inquiring from Maine. Thanks, miko

Life got busy and I haven't been back to this forum. Yes I still have the bike. It appears I got all or most of the Kreem out of the tank, I carefully used acetone. However the inside looks to have a lot of rust so I may use white vinegar. I sold a Harley that sat for a long time that had a lot of rust in the tank and white vinegar did a great job removing the rust.
I need to have it sold in the next 2-4 months. I can send many pics if anyone is interested. I will see if I can message the guy from Maine who was interested 5 months ago.
thanks
Dennis
