If you kept a note of the key number you can get spares cut from that

Don't know about Kawasakis but on many Hondas, the key code can be found on the back of the helmet lock which is easily removable.  Failing that, the code should be somewhere on the ignition lock  -  kind of a pain in the ass to get to but a lot easier than finding a new lock set.

There seem to be a lot of "locksmiths" out there who try to make this more complicated than it really is.  A real locksmith with a computer-controlled cutter can cut you a key given only the year/make/model and the code stamped into all of the various lock cylinders.  Just pull either or both of the helmet locks and get out your magnifying glass.  Each cylinder has one or more flat spots where the key code is stamped.

The simple fact is:

ILCO blank info

KZ550/650/750/
1000/1100/1300
1979-1984 KZ, Z5001-Z6000 KA14

In other words, you need an ILCO KA14 blank, and a number from Z5001-Z6000 to describe the cut, which is stamped into all of the cylinders on the bike.

Bend (Oregon) Lock and Safe are awesome guys who educated me and cut me three keys when I paid the minimum ($20?).
