Yes, I agree - the fuel tank looks almost pristine. Fill it up with gasoline and add some Sea Foam - that's all you need, NOT! haha

Not being a KZ expert at all, in my opinion that sprocket needs replacement. It's just too thin at the ends and I would bet it would start chipping soon.

Regarding the tank: You have some work ahead of you !!!!!! Based on the photo - you only need a few P.P.M. (Parts Per Million) to screw-up your carbs. The tanks need to be spotless which is why any operational 1300 today, has had the tank cleaned and sealed. Plus an in-line fuel filter.
The cam sprocket: You'll likely get many opinions - one way or the other, but - mine looks the same after 80,000+ K. Have done the CCT mod and the valve train runs silently. so I'm leaving it alone.

I blew the picture up to 200% to have a better look. The tips of the teeth on the nylon gear look pretty sharp and narrow. the gear is probably original and at 30 odd years old soaked in oil and heat, I would be concerned that the gear could crack and break up. I would replace it if you can find a new one. As I mentioned before, my kawasaki dealer found that kawasaki Japan still had them in stock. Around $40 Canadian for a new one. I bought 2 just so I'd have one to install and a spare for down the road.

200%. It's to much :-) I would like to change the gear.
I called my Kawasaki dealer without success. He said that the gear is not longer available.

I think the gear is still available on Japanse web page.
www.monotaro.com/g/01492987/
The price is 4380 YEN(excluding tax). It's about 34 euros.
But I'm not sure that web page is updated,so I have to ask the web page first.
If you want that gear from Japan, please let me know.

Attached picuture is my stock gear.I bought this a few yaers ago.

I'm hoping some of our German friends speak up here. I have it in the back of my head that someone in Europe was producing/selling the plastic gear.
Anybody help here??
