Hi from another UK green Z13 owner.
Good luck with your restoration, I know how wallet damaging the process can get - but it'll be worth it in the end :woohoo:
Not sure how good or bad your bodywork is, but I was recently looking at a bike at a UK specialist dealer and noticed he was selling a full Z13 paint set (luminous passion red - probably off a 1982 A4). Was considering it myself for a future project, but wallet and space restrictions stopped me. I can post details if of interest.
Cheers Tim

Hello Tim,

May be interested in the body kit, let me know the details.
There's also the add on ebay (UK) at the moment for the bright green full kit (big tank), £990ish all in, which sounds a hell of a lot but I suppose if you factor in the buy price of the 5 pieces, paint / labour for a high-quality job then it's not far off at all.
Plus sell-off of the items they replace of course.

It's a just a hoooge wedge of cash at a time it's not directly relevant to getting the damn thing running mechanically, but I may regret that short-term approach..!

Richard.

Richard, hi
I had not seen the Lawson lookalike paint set on eBay: looks a very nice finish and if you want something a wee bit different, its ideal.
I guess your looking at £600 + as a minimum for a quality job: Ive had some eye watering quotes in the past 24 months > £1000 for a standard colour scheme on good quality panels   so I guess when you factor in the cost and availability of bodywork its not too bad. Still a lot of money though whichever way you look at it.

TBH the set I saw at Classic Bikes UK is up for similar money - but they may accept a low offer as they may want to move it on as they are in the business to sell bikes, not accessories. classicbikes.co.uk/stocklist.html Still cant believe how much some of their bike sell for

Cheers Tim

Thanks Tim, yes I see their ad' now, original paint? wow that's well preserved.
I guess one big advantage of their set is the original decals, shame the tank badge (mounts!) appear to be missing.

Gawd, if only money were no object!

Nice looking XS11 there too, had one of those and still like them...

Hi Gents,

That paint set on eBay belongs to the famous stunt rider Gary Rothwell who apparently has two Z1300 that he performs stunts on. The company that painted the parts is also the same company that painted mine. So I’m sure the paintwork will be to a very high standard.
