Hi.

Just made the registration at this forum..

Got my first z1300 just 2 weeks ago.. A fantastic barn find..1980 model, current owner, now passed away bought it in 1982 parked it in 1987. There it sat for 30 years until i picked it up. Everything looks to be in perfect condition.. no rust only dust.. hope it will clean up nicely. Only 29000km.. What is the value on something like this? once all cleaned up and running nicely that is..

Hey there and welcome to this forum.

Congratulations to a barn-find, good to see they still exist. Please show how it looks/ looked like, even uncleaned, we are very keen on photos.

The value - a philosophical discussion. Depending on who you find you will probably get between EUR 5000 and 10000, depending how it looks like.

I've met some cool guys from Norway in Germany in the recent year with bike in very nice shape - hope oyu can get there, too

best regards from Switzerland

Ok, i have some more pictures..

This first is from the spot it had beed sitting for 3 years.

First thing i did was to remove the headlight fairing.. it will not go back on the bike.. Neither will the Krauser carrier system..

One more picture with 30 year old dust..

As can be seen on the picture the blinker pipes has been bent down by the fitters of the krauser system.. I need a new bracket or a straight pipe to weld in to my existing bracket. The ones i have seen on ebay are all welded or damaged in some way. Does anyone have something usable? Trying to bend the pipes back in place will make them look wobblely and i do not want that..

Low milage..

Also welcome from the Canadian wing. 29000kms, just nicely broke in. Nice find. Looking forward to seeing pics of your "barn find" and looking forward to seeing where you go with it (how it cleans up) and also would be nice to see "where you go with it" pics of your travels.

Enjoy the forum !!

Welcome to the forum.
That is one very nice find; pretty sure with a bit of judicious cleaning and polishing that she'll be back to her former glory ! .
Please pop up some pics when you've cleaned her up.

Re values, difficult to gauage (and most eBay sellers are unrealistic), but if she's mechanically good, in the UK I think that would fetch £7k - £8k Sterling.
