Hey all,

Been a long time KZ rider since the days they were still new in the showrooms and still have a 78 650 Custom and a 82 ELR. Always loved the 1300's and I'm looking to acquire my first one.....either a resto or one in good running condition, depends on the $$.

Any leads or info would be greatly appreciated!

One question........what are the differences between the original KZ1300 and the Voyager? If I strip a Voyager, will I end up with the KZ1300?

Thanks!

Welcome to KZ1300.COM!

The Voyager 1300's have a different frame which is not a bad thing but will never be a KZ thing.

Among other differences the Voyager frames are swaybacked to minimize seat height. I'm working on an 85 Voyager in an attempt to turn it into a street cruiser. I'll get there someday.

Welcome aboard!

There was a guy up your way selling two for the price of one. I will see if I can track down his add if he still has them. It all depends on what your looking for in the KZ 1300 or the Z 1300. 79 to 81 was carbs and 82 on was fuel injected which brought about a bit of a jump in H.P.. To be fair here any way you go means your going to have to do your own work on it unless one of us guys are close to you. The other thing is some of the parts you can not get any more but the up side to this is some of us here are getting good at making our own stuff or can help you find parts. To a point the old girl is making a come back because of us.

Thanks for the info, I'd be interested in knowing whether he still has those bikes. I'm not new at bringing old bikes back to life, just haven't had the pleasure yet of working on or putting a KZ1300 back on the road!
