Hello All:

Good to see this site and to meet other fellow 1300 enthusiasts. My current A-4 is my 4th 1300 since 1984. Resurrected mine from a barn in Idaho a couple of years ago. Restoring it to bone stock condition, and just about there.

Other rides are a 1980 KZ1000 D-3 Z1R and a BMW K1200GT, 2006.

There are pluses and minuses with the 1300, but I have always been impressed by its design and ability to eat up the miles. It's turbine smooth power delivery is something to admire while in the saddle on a long day.

We know locating parts can be a challenge but that is part of the fun. That is chasing down those obsolete items that disappeared from the Kawasaki warehouse a long, Long time ago.

My 1300 is currently down for maintenance, with a core set of carburetors on the way for a refurb and tune.

It's good to meet others in this forum to rely on and share the "School Of Hard Knocks." to keep our bikes going.

It's interesting to compare my newer BMW to our Old School KZ's. I consider the BMW K Bike as an Electronic Toaster. The KZ's I consider as a piece of cast iron, ready to roll on for many years to come. Never to go out of date, or become obsolete.
