My pleasure Kawboy. l like my CBX, i dont ride the olduns that hard, im interested to see how the big zed sounds and rides in relation to my CBX. The R1 is something else, its just getting into its stride in 2nd with the front end gently heading skyward when it would be passing the H2 going full chat, alas, its a licence loser,as it just gets better the harder you go :)

Just Curious as to where in B.C. ? P.M. me if that is preferable to you !

Was recently returning from Lumby and coming down through Coldstream into Vernon when a pick-up pulled up beside me. The guys hand motions and the expression on his face got my attention. He yelled out of his window," I have one of those at home"! I shrugged my shoulders as I didn't hear him clearly. Between the look on his face and his pointing at my 1300 it was clear he had a 1300. I didn't get a chance to pull over to talk to him but seems there's two of us in the Vernon area! A business associate has told me several times he knows of someone local who has a 13 and that he has passed my info onto this guy. To date haven't met anyone but wonder if the guy in the truck was him. Too few of the 13's around for it to be another coincidence.

Hi Mark : very nice collection you have there ;)
Pop some pics up of the Big Zed when you get her, always nice to see another one being brought back to life.
Cheers Tim

I was out driving one day, and while he went by really quick (he was in the opposite lane heading the other direction), I'm fairly certain I passed a guy on a 1300. Same color as mine, too. Now, I live in the middle of nowhere, SE Michigan, right near the Ohio border. There's not that many people around here with old bikes in general, much less a KZ1300.

To the original poster- if you need any help taking apart/putting back together the motor, let me know. I had to replace the bottom end on mine and rebuild the top end due to a bent rod. I don't know everything, but I've seen nearly all the guts this bike has.

Where's your ignition pickups located? Behind the cylinders on the right, or on the right crankshaft?
