I cannot seen to turn the petcock on this model im looking at buying ..its on... is that normal not to be able to turn it on or off reserve? 1984 zn 1300 about 38k miles

The fuel taps do tend to seize up. I used to carry a pair of pliers with me.

There are methods on here for servicing the stock fuel tap or, as I did, you can replace it with a Pingle fuel tap

FWIW, and this is just MY opinion about the fuel injected ZN's, it's almost impossible to flood these engines from fuel running past the open petcock. Carburetor floats on the earlier 1300's can stick slightly open and fill the engine with fuel, but fuel injectors rarely leak. I had my '83 for 212,000 miles and never shut off the petcock.

But, it's really nice to have it functional so it gives you a reserve amount of fuel!!
