Hi all, just got my 80 kz1300 that I traded a trailer for. Didn't run the greatest when I got it but after I put new plugs and cleaned the carbs all I can say is holy shit this thing is a beast!

Tried posting a pic but it said fatal error. It's a touring model. Maroon and some gold pinstriping.

Welcome! From your description, your motorcycle is a 1980 B2 model. If it is stock, you have the so-called "European" fuel tank with a capacity of 27 liters as opposed to the U.S. only fuel tank of 21.4 liters. If unmolested, your tank also has an insulating heat barrier on the bottom to help prevent fuel from boiling in the tank. The U.S. only tanks do not have the heat insulation.

These are great motorcycles. This is evidenced by the fact that the recent production BMW 6 cylinder motorcycles are a reinvention of the Kawasaki 6 cylinder motorcycles.

Thanks for the info! It does have the insulation on the underside of the fuel tank. One beast of a machine that's for sure. Pretty much my first bike and I'm loving it. Having a hard time finding parts for it, any suggestions to where I can get used parts? Seat, fender, signals and such?
