Hi I always wanted a 1300 after seeing one at a bike festival at Donnington park in UK in the 80's, could never afford one at the time,
I may have been a bit impulsive after finally getting the go ahead from the wife, a garage had it up for sale, they kept it in storage for a collector for two years and working on it as needs be. I bought it with no history apart from the invoices etc for the last two years. It is 1979 kz1300 frame KZT30A-000874 , engine KZT30AE-000911, registration number AKZ 1300 imported into UK 1993, 15000 on the clock. It seems original, not fantastic condition chips, scratches etc but fell in love with it, the battery/ tool that was missing so made a temp cover for the air filter, the vacuum and breather pipes etc all gone. All I have done so far is new oil & filter, plugs, cleaned tank checked petlock filter, bought a large sump/ pickup ready to go on, carbs off and ultrasonic cleaned. Balanced carbs. Petrol cock not original vacuum type, was disconnected running on prime, so connected vacuum pipes from the two centre vac gauge connectors. Only managed 60 miles in a year due to many probs. at present carbs in bits for the forth time, I have posted on carb forum . I would like some previous history on my bike but not sure how to source , where originally from, anything on the bike etc. The garage said paperwork probably got mislaid before their client got the bike. Many thanks. Dave

Dave, hi and welcome to the forum
"Small world" but I saw your bike for sale 3-4 years ago (on eBay) and was considering buying it: I remember the registration number.
Not sure, (and apologies if this turns out to be missinformation) but I think I read a posting on another UK Kawa forum by a guy called Rick Brett - who is the go to UK guru for all things kawa triple related - and am sure he mentioned he was the original UK owner of that bike: the Reg number got my attention. Might be worth dropping him a line ??

Rick runs a big operation re classic Kwaks: www.classickawasaki.com/

Cheers Tim
