I am the original owner of a 1984 Voyager ZN1300 with 47000 miles. It's been gathering dust in the garage for about 8 years after an electrical harness corrosion and subsequent charging issue. This year is the year I want to get it prepped agin and ride, but I have my work cut out for me. Need to rebuild front and back brakes as both have lost compression, need to clean or replace charging harness under seat so the bike will charge again. And biggest on the list - I have yet to perform the Cam Chain Tensioner service on the bike that is crucial for this model. There used to be a ZN1300 blog on the web that not only had tremendous how to articles for the Cam Chain Tensioner service, but also links to the vendors who still carried the parts. Alas, I believe that site is no more. Just my luck...

I am hoping I can glean some assistance from the folks on this site... Here's hoping :)

Check out the FAQ tab at the top of the page. It has a searchable engine that will take you to information regarding different topics including the "cam chain tensioner".

Best wishes for the resurrection of your Voyager, Rick. You must be quite attached to it, having owned it from new. Can you recall the day you bought it? What was your initial impression of the bike? These machines certainly are an impressive sight - will you please post some photos on this forum? And keep us informed of your progress in returning it to the highway.

Welcome to the group Rick ! It's about 9 pm here ,and I just got back from a 100 plus mile ride on my 85' ZN ......Just out wasting fuel and having fun after the work day ! Mine doesn't look much like your typical ZN 1300 anymore, It's more like a sport bike, and it's alot of fun to ride !...........................tony :)

If yours has been sitting around , collecting dust for the last 8 years it's time to get her rolling down the road again !
