Heck, I'd get a manual anyway. I was lucky enough to get one with the bike I bought, and let me tell you, it's an interesting read- worth getting and flipping though in your spare time, even if you never have to use it.

Besides, good luck finding a shop who can actually fix one of these things. A majority of people don't even know that Kawasaki built them in the first place (and yes, they DO have their own little quirks. Like two ignition switches, for one..... Still trying to figure that one out...)!

Hi longjon, enjoy your new ride! I will echo my coleagues and say get a manual as well. These bikes are a bit of an odd ball and the factory service manual is really a necessity. They have some quirks yes, but they are a one off bike in the kawasaki world, the carbs are uniqe to this motorcycle and the electronics are a bit complicated for the era.

The two ignition switches are an attempt at an ani-theft system I think.

Welcome to the forum from a UK member. A great bunch of guys on the site always willing to help out.
The bike is a mine field of technicality from the 80's. Off which you will find out. If Its not one thing its another. Stick with it and enjoy. I have.
