Dear all,

I would be interested to hear from members whether they prefer sintered or organic brake pads. Not sure what I’ve got on mine but braking is a bit scary. I’ve rebuilt the master cylinder with new seals and the calipers with new seals and pistons. The brake pads that came with the bike had plenty of meat on them but they could be 10 years old or more. 

Love to to hear your suggestions.

their is also ceramic pads
i would/ have always stuck with and like the sintered metal brake pads
but hey mate its like anything buy a crap brand and whatever their called you might get crap.
maybe pull your pads out wipe the disc down with summit like spray thinners give a light rub with 108 grit or higher sand paper put the sand paper on flat surface and rub pads to new surface appears, they maybe just glazed over sometimes you will be amazed at the difference you get cleaning up and sanding both surfaces.
if you dont get a difference i would suggest they are cheap pads some one put in

I’ll give it try. 

HEL brake lines all round. 

I left the old sintered brake pads on mine, after a nice clean up and some surface 'beautifying'. Let's see what happens, and I predict they will work just fine. It's so easy to replace them so I couldn't pass on this 'experiment' reusing good old parts. Even totally gone pads will stop a bike, so I have no doubt they will work just fine. Personally, from the recommendation of fast and aggressively the not a huge amount lighter Vmax riding folks, sintered are the way to go.
