Hi guys, back in the forum after a stop of 1 n a half year, I'm happy to say that my dad's Kawasaki zg 1300 a1 is now alive after sitting 25 yrs in the garage. Back on the topic I've a question for you: I'm completely overhauling the brake system on the bike and I'm actually working on the front brakes. I would like to buy one of those ebay set for a complete overhaul but here's the question: my dad big Z is a zg 1300 a1 1984 and i haven't found the exact kit for my model or at least not a complete one, but I've found a lot of kit for the z 1300 A1 to A5 for 79 to 83 model. Do they run the same front brakes caliper? Are the piston gasket the same? Thank you for your time, hoping to be able to post some video of e the bike healthy and running by the end of the year

the ZG1300 front brake calipers are part # 43041-1156 and 43041-1157
the kz1300 front brake calipers part # 43041-1016 and 43041-1017
The Zn1300 front brake caliper part # 43041-1094 and 43041-1095

What the differences are and if some parts are interchangeable I don't know but different part numbers would suggest that they are not.

I cant offer much help but this site has come in handy for me with some harder to find parts. Congrats on getting your dads bike up and running!

I stumbled onto the CMSNL.com website and they show parts listings for the ZG1300 specifically + the parts they have available. You may want to check out their site and maybe Partzilla.com and do some cross referencing.

This is a prime example of why I like to reference Partzilla.com. CMSNL lists the caliper piston seal ring for the ZG1300 as 43049-1098. when you punch that number into Partzilla, it shows all the models of Kawasaki's that use that part# and it includes Concours, Vulcan etc.
