I just picked up a 1980 KZ1300 parts bike and will be selling it after I take a few things. It shows 22,000K and has been sitting for ? years. I'm going to take the speedo/tach instrument and the engine guard and the intact tail light , maybe the tail piece if its in better shape than mine. The gas tank is intact but won't open. The key turns in the switch ok. I just got it home yesterday so not sure about the engine or other things, just giving the KZ1300 guys a heads up if interested. 
The short time I've had it I've noticed it has a longer side stand so I think I'll switch it with mine as mine leans way over and I put a 2x4 under it to keep it normal. Also a different handle bar and completely different  handlebar switch assembly.  no exhaust but has collector boxes and pipes up to the engine,
Its 30A001387 . Can anyone tell me if its an early bike?   I'm in Alberta CA so if interested in anything let me know

The decal on the steering stem , if still there, has the month and year of manufacture. One of my bikes serial number is about 400 lower than yours and was manufactured 2/ 79 .

Thanks, I do have a old province registration and it says 1980. The decal is a bit ratty but I'll take a close look and see what I can see.

Decal says 02-79 so I'd say its an early bike. The has different rear turn signal lens, smaller that the front, they look original

Fuel tank sending unit? Is that the unit inside the tank? I do have some turn signal units. I can send pictures of these if you want. Where are you located.
