Adaboy !! Congrats. Another one saved from the grave. Inspiring !!

Thanks y'all. I got the front brakes working again last night as well.

The master cylinder was dry, but there was some gunk in it. Cleaned all that out, filled it with fluid, and it was just a matter of working the lever some to get the master cylinder bled, and then the calipers.



Unfortunately, the seals on the master pushrod are leaking, and it weeps out the back of the master, near the lever pivot. Luckily, OEM seal kits are only about $30, so I got one of those on order. That should fix it up, provided the bore isn't pitted.

I'm thinking about putting braided lines on it. Just a line to each caliper and a double banjo bolt at the master. I'd leave the junction block in place and just plug the ports. Braided lines made a world of difference on my GL, and given that this will be a rider and not a show bike, it makes sense to me to make minor modifications to make it a bit better.

Are the brake line banjos all M10x1.5?

Also, I need to replace the fork seals on this thing. I looks like I might be able to get away with just removing the bolt from the bottom and pulling the slider off, leaving the fork tube in the triple clamps and not having to screw with the headlight ears.

Is that possible, or wishful thinking?

Congrats ! That "popping" @ 1:40 - is what I refer to as a "lazy cylinder". Nothing more then an idle circuit requiring a bit longer to draw fuel. Nothing to worry about.

I think you'll want to remove the entire shock from the triple-clamp. It's a lot easier to service at the bench !!!!!!!

Thanks, and yeah, I was just looking for an easier way out. Pulling the forks isn't bad though. I'll probably work on that some tonight. It'll need tires anyway.
