Removed the cylinder block today. The mechanical seal was damaged and the drain hole was clogged. Will deliver head and block to the machine shop tomorrow.

Oem base gasket is at the moment not available. Some eBay sellers can offer expensive oem gasket, but I don’t trust the quality when they are dispatching it.

Is it ok to use a after market gasket? I see that Z1300.de sells it. I have original cylinder head gasket and preferred to always use oem parts. When it’s possible

I would use every gasket in an aftermarket kit apart from the cylinder head gasket.
Only dead fish go with the flow

Cylinder block back on, new piston rings, Liska gear, mechanical seal, base gasket, o-rings and new stainless steel water pump shaft :)

Machine shop is waiting for exhaust guides to finish the cylinder head. Maybe it will be ready next week
