This stuff should act similar to the Jet Coat product which advertises some pretty incredible numbers, like under the hood temperatures dropping by 300 F . The coating is out of site, out of mind adds little to no weight and also headers work more effective when the exhaust gases are kept hot. The header will draw out more exhaust on scavenging.

I still have the foam backing from under the tank and will reapply it when my tank comes back from the paint shop, but I also plan on applying a layer of aluminum foil to reflect heat back down and away from the fuel. The only drawback would be a lack of heat dissipation around the ignition coils. This is engineering change control. Change one item and identify other areas that may be affected and monitor for change.
