Hi Cecil,
I don't know the answer to your question perhaps another member could chime in.

I did check the friction plates I'd purchased some years back after I'd read a tip in the old site's Tech Section (see the FAQ tab on the main menu). Based on what I'd read there, I picked up a set of new friction plates for a 1500 Vulcan, Kawasaki part number 13088-1146. Tonight I tried to see if they would fit a KZ1300 clutch and they wont.

Does any body know if there is a cross over for our clutch plates?

TIA

As far as gaps, that is set up when everything is back together and you set the clutch lever adjustment on the engine. On the Voyagers we run teh set screw in until all slop is gone, then back it out about 1/8-1/4 turn. I don't know of any other gaps involved in the clutch according to the manuals.

Does any one know if the clutch push rods are different in length for the seven verses nine plate clutches?

TIA

Just speculation here, Bill, but since the clutches are totally different dimensions otherwise, I can't imagine the push rods would be the same length exactly.

(OK, I'll shut up and go write more ignition stuff!)
