can anyone put up any photos of the timing marks for the cams and crank or where they line up

What year model ? I have a '79 A1

make sure the marks still align once you have tightened the cam cap bolts.
timing mark positions depend on what year, on the points if you have them, behind the righthand engine cover. you piston timing is normally TDC on No 1

This is the TDC mark (T) for #1 and #6 on the A1, A2 and B2 engines.

The timing mark on the rotor needs to line up with the top of the mating surface of the lower crankcase

brilliant cheers guys NO wonder there's 6 bent valves I am surprised there's not 12 total rebuild now what do you reckon on the pistons ?? pull them out and re ring with a hone or leave alone ? the timing must of slipped some teeth somehow coz its nowhere near those marks hahaha cct must be broken

sorry its an 79 A1 which is very poorly indeed i need a new head if anyone can help ??
