I am hoping the attachments , one showing the front and the other the rear of the box, can be identified for me. I think it is a" Resistor Ignition coil" .
It is on my 81'kz 1300. Located on the RHS up near the left hand side coil.
This coil feeds No. 2 and 6 sparks which is probably not relevant other than to give an idea of its location.
The leads are Yellow, brown and Black/yellow
Is this the same as a "ballast resistor" often referred to in this forum.

many thanks in advance

Thanks in advance.

Your part is the 5 V Dc supply for the fuel and temp gauges. It is not connected with ignition. The resistor for original ignition coils is piece of ceramic with one flat connector at one end and three at the other end.

That's where it goes. The ballast resistors on the right are not stock.

Thanks for your help LareNurminen and Stan G. Another puzzle has been solved. I will now carry out an Ohm reading on the existing coils to make sure they are within specs as it appears they are not original and there are no ceramic resistors installed.

The bike was running on delivery and I am trying to systematically run through everything before taking it for a serious run. petcock leaking, rust in tank, air filter oil filter and oil and radiator fluid change through out, brake fluid and brakes, manifold crush washers etc. All very exciting learning as I go.

Cheers
