Putting my basket case engine together and the factory manual says there is a nozzle that is supposed to be in the oil pan. I don't think I lost it. Can anyone shed some light on this? Bike bandit shows one, but no detailed pic. Thanks !

Are you asking about part # 92062-1079 the oil flow restrictor nozzle on the top of the crankcase just behind #4 cylinder bore hole, the oil feed galley to the cylinder head?
Love to help out but you have to help us as well. What year engine are we working on? And sometimes it really helps if you add a link to the page you're referencing so we can all talk apples to apples.

Hi dmerc. On the first picture oil pan from KZ1300 A 1979. Its the smaller pan 4.6 l. There is a hole around 1mm in diameter directly drilled through the aluminum material of the pan. This is how it was in my case, and i think i was the first one to remove the pan on my bike, so i presume that's the original state. The second picture shows the bigger pan, around 6 liter oil capacity, which i got of Ebay, it was brand new and there is a nozzle in there as separate part pressed in, also note the difference between oil filter cases. To avoid misunderstanding i circle them green, so we talk about the same nozzle. Also i take it, You are referring to BikeBandit part number NOZZLE,6X8,SILVER 92062-1081 ? or like Kawboy mentioned part number NOZZLE 92062-1079 as seen on the last picture, red circle.

Sorry, yes that is the part. My bike is a 1980. The pan has a small drilled hole where the nozzle would go. Did the factory do away with the nozzle and just drll a small hole?
I have the small oil pan.

Kawasaki had experienced oil circulation problems leading to main bearing failure. As the result they increased the sump capacity to counteract, also the oil distribution inside of the pan was changed but the nozzle it self, i cant tell why it became extra part, maybe something to do with manufacture process like debris inside of the channel or something, but that's only my speculation.

Sounds like the small pan has a drilled orifice and the big pan has a pressed in orifice. So I should be good to go. Any confirmation?
