Clutch slippage can be a number of issues.

1. Check that your clutch adjustment is correct as detailed in the manual - Pg 20
2. Friction plates worn and need replacing
3. Clutch springs week and need replacing
4. Type of oil you are using

Thanks Craig. I am going to check my clutch adjustment today. I only noticed it was slipping yesterday when I really dropped the hammer to pass a truck on the highway. I've been taking it easy on her since I got her since I want to work the bugs out before getting stuck somewhere lol. The lash going into first has been with me from the beginning.

I'm using Kawasaki branded Synthetic Oil. Hopefully that isn't my problem.

If it's Kawa Branded, I would assume it to be ok for our wet clutches

Yes, one would hope so.

I made some adjustments as per the manual and went for a run. Goes into first without lash but was still slipping if I mashed it. I went back and played little more and on the second run it appears to be fine. It will take a little more driving to see if I got it for sure.

Thanks Craig.

That's good news!
The thing about these old beauties is that we all become first class mechanics on them in a relatively short time frame. There are not many bike shops that want to work on them any more, but with the manual and the help from scores of members on this site, nothing is too big a problem to overcome.....however, never forget the old saying...patience is a virtue. So true in most of our cases :S

Yes, that seems to be the case. However I am feeling a bit guilty about asking for so much help. I look down the index and its me... asking questions lol.
