Seems like we have had a sudden increase in classic motorcycles being imported into the land down under which is great to see no doubt, but when they want ludicrous prices for them is what annoys me. Guess everyone likes to make a fair quid, but some of them are just freekin crazy!!
I must add....NOT ALL...

I have noticed a distinct upward trend in prices for the classics here. A sort of two edged sword in that we like our bikes to be worth more but always want to pay less for the next classic we get.
I get round the swap meets and I am seeing a huge increase in asking prices for the pre 70s English bikes and the parts.

Well, for the kz 1300 here in N.A for example there is two 6 day listings on ebay and we are done to 3 days and neither bike has a bid on it.
There was two non runners and a bunch of parts in Calgary for $2300 and have been listed for months, not sure of they sold . But then pre '70 british stuff has always been a bit over the top.

I reckon quite a few are trying to get rich quick given classics are very reasonably priced in the US and there are no real restrictions in importing them here. I was bidding on a 79 CBX and went upto 15.5 with reserve not met. Mind you a good CBX in the US is around the 5-6 k mark. Waay over the top in my opinion, he has got it back on there at 16, no bids at all. In the meantime, picked one up from an importer in really good nick for 9. now that to me is a more realistic price. Bike was brought in from Florida, and he obviously made a quid on it as well...
