I stripped my tank down ready for painting and didn't realize that the chromed tank badge plinths were made of plastic as I was going to get them re- chromed, I know these are made of unobtainium so I wont be able to get replacements, one of them is OK, but what do people normaly do with these , are they painted or hydrowrapped, or can you get them re-chromed.

There may be someone in your area that does this Cosmic Chrome process and can refinish your plinths. It might be worthwhile dropping these guys an email for information. Looks like an amazing process.

I saw this spray on chrome demo'd at a car show , Seems like a great idea , especially for parts like exhaust mufflers/headers which chrome platers don't like dealing with.

It is awesome for sure, but not exactly a DIY.. Unless they sell these in spray cans. There is something similar sold from another manufacturer and they apply chrome with a brush. Still, a set cost 2 - 300 dollars if I remember correctly. It would be good to have few guys chip in as one set is good for way more than one person would need.
