I just did a very nice trip from Vancouver to Okanagan in BC. Fantastic roads, great landscapes! The Westside Road along the coastline of the Lake Okanagan is a riders paradise - winding along the lake with great views. Definitely you must have your bike's breaks in order, or you will end up off a cliff flying towards the lake. Another great stretch and a riders dream was the Coquihalla Highway. Besides the scenery, the speed limit is set at 120 km/hr, so pretty much you cruise at 130 - 140 all day long. Many long curves, almost no need to slow down. Just the joy of leaning to the sides. Kelowna and Kamloops were the main largest urban landmarks in this loop. I also got to meet Scotch at his secret location. I don't think I need to mention the word 'a great guy',  and thank you for hospitality and quality conversations! Until the next time!

Stan - Had I known you where taking pictures I would have asked you not to post the one of "My Place".  Now everyone knows I'm full-o-shit and actually live out of a trailer and my shop is actually  tent !   Sigh !

LOL Scotch, a room with a view! haha On a more serious note, I think maybe I mentioned it when we talked, I was blown away to see how the scenery reminded me of travels in South America, or even some places in Central. Those rolling green hills, overlapping in a distance higher mountainous areas, and the sandy eroding slopes. The Westside Road along the Okanagan Lake coast I'd swear I am riding a rural road in Japan. I spent so much time exploring 'the exotic', and I found it here in Canada! A beautiful country. Looking at all the lakes and rivers, and the Fraser River is very long, I can't stop thinking how wonderful it would be to explore Canada on a boat. 
So yes, the landscapes took me by surprise. I hope people who don't live in Canada will enjoy this very small glimpse of what you see riding here.

Nice ride Stan. Too bad about the smoke. Usual summer atmosphere in the Okanagan at this time of year. Next year you might try HiWay 3 to Vancouver or east to Castlegar.
