Just a query, next year my bike will be 40 years old so I should be able to apply for mot exemption, but worried that on registration doc - declared manufacture 1979 but first registered 1993 as imported then. Any thoughts? My own views are I may still take for mot anyway but like to know options.

Hi my z1300 is 40 years old next year and i rang the DVLA because i was hoping it would be exempt from the ultra low emissions zone in london next year, the guy told me it is 40 years from when it is built not when its registered .

Thank you, I did speak to the post office where I tax it & they thought I would need proof of manufacture ? I think if it accepts the historical tax in their system the mot should be the same.
