I had two ex cops tell me that if an intentional trap is set on a bridge that's a case for dismissal. Sure, cops can stop you anywhere anytime, but what I am questioning is fishing for tickets at the wrong place. Wouldn't a cop waving you at a dangerous spot, which require you to make an instant on spot last second judgment between a safe stop or a potential accident, resulting in not stopping and advancing to another supposed 'safe' unknown place constitute to the cop's impaired judgment? Intentional, due to setting the poor judgment of the stopping point, endangerment resulting in potentially serious bodily harm consequences?
I am not sure how exactly the law goes, hoping a paralegal member would know exactly about this in technicality court relevant terms.
Anyway, this happened to me, and I wasn't speeding, so I am not going to give it away.
If a cop requests a stop that is unsafe, then with the training he/she has would render them having no expertise and inadequate training.
