It never ceases to fascinate me that some of you owners from over-seas have clocked up some serious mileage on your beloved 1300's. Over here in little England, we dont tend to do so many miles as you guys in larger countries. For example I bought my current bike in 2012 & it had only covered 27,000 miles since 1979 when it was first registered. Thats less than 1000 miles per year average !!!!

I have read about some owners going past the 200,000 mile point, which is just amazing.

On the old KZ1300 Site I was in contact with one guy who named himself "The Patron Saint Of All KZ1300's" and I know he had covered some massive miles on his bike & carried out some very interesting mods including fitting an oil cooler (great idea). I often wonder if he is still out there clocking up the miles ?

So my question is........WHO IS THE ULTIMATE 1300/6 HIGH MILEAGE KING ??

while I am out of the Game with approx 100.000kms in 20 years have a look at my gallery, one guy has even documentet his approach to 300.000 kms on his bike ...

Even more however is my mechanic who had 429.000 with his first engine (OK, he is ablke to give it a very poper maintenance as well as all required spares), however this is fascinating as you mention it.

I will attempt to answer the first part of your question Pete - about the Patron Saint- his name is Paul Bezilla and he lives in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada. I bought my first B2 off him about 11 years ago. I tried contacting him several years ago about some parts and he wasn't very interested as I think he sold his bike- altho at the time he had about 5.
His bike was a modified B2 , he enlarged the already large euro tank, fitted a fuel cell to the rear carrier rack and did alot of " how far can you ride in 24 hours " type of riding.
He'd fitted the oil cooler and two piston caliper mod to the front disc brake. And then all that knowledge disappeared quite rapidly. But that would have been a high mileage bike alright.
Larry Colin on the old forum had more than 150,000 miles on his bike - he was by far the highest mileage bike here in North America that I have heard of. So that is about 241,000 km in your money- not as good as some of these others

I have 237000 on mine and it still has the original cam chain tensioner
