Merry Christmas from us down in new Zealand thanks for all the help still working om the z1300 and also have a gs550 i just brought from a museum but its lacking compression.nice bike weather here so Ive been out on my cbx and gsx1100 will give the others a run ill be having a few bourbons as well hope you all have a safe and fun Xmas

Thanks, I will raise my glass on you guys, however the bike stays inside at temperatures around 0°C - enjoy your summer while we "up here" suffer from the usual winter crap-weather.

Now there's another cycle too pretty to be shoved in the back of a museum somewhere.

Low compression- It's been sitting for quite some time? I might try a few drops of oil down the clyinder bores and rechecking. Sometimes if they've been layed up for a long time, the cylinder walls get dry and the rings won't seal as nice as they should. Just a thought. Merry Christmas !!

Lovely looking bike, nice find: looks like it just rolled off the assembly line
As Kawboy John said, hopefully its just a case that the bores are dry and she will be a very easy fix.

Thanks for the reply's i have already tried to save it and it smokes really bad pushes oil out exhaust joints its a shame but i need to look inside
am going to pull it down but i want to finish the 1300 first .Cheers Graham
