Hi.
Thanks for the info. While working my way forward shall strip down and check for peace of mind.
Like yourself the weather in the UK has been to cold to spend hours in the workshop even with a heater and 26 layers of clothes.
Your bike looking good. Has it been a full restoration? Is there a good supply of spares available on your door step? In the UK a major problem as most parts in short supply and cost mega Wonga or not available.
Obtained many parts from the States years ago for my 2 stroke restorations but with postage and import duty cost an arm and a leg.

All the best in your restoration and show it of on the site when completed

Cheers Dave.

Hello,

kz750twins.com/?p=37

www.google.com/search?q=1978+kawasaki+75...=univ&sa=X&ei=XowUVf

Was snooping around on-line to see whats out there to describe what I was saying previously. Hope this works for you.

The two stroke Suzuki turned out great ...WELL DONE. ! Much like this 85' 1100 LTD that I am (once again) putting in more time and money into,
than I would ever see returned.....I think we do this to save or preserve yet one more old bike that we remembered and liked, from getting parted out or straight out scrapped ! Thanks to (mostly ebay) I have been able to find what parts I need...but I have been making a sorta, kinda
Frankenbike with this one ,using a old 650 Kaw that I had got as a parts bike sometime ago. I paid only $200. for the 1100 shaft after it was sitting outside since being in a accident the very first year that it was new. I plan on taking out to a lake Erie island (vacation place) and leaving it there for good,,,,, I have too many bikes here at my home already .
I Googled your hometown there, to see where you are (sorry ,never heard of Leicestereshire before)and see that you are smack dab in the middle of the island. I am at the west end of lake Erie ,but there is some great roads to ride around here that follow twisting waterways going out t the lake.(can't wait to start being able to use them again ! :woohoo: Here is a couple other pics of some of my other bikes that are daily rider type bikes.....................tony :)

That's some of the stable....you can see why I'm taking the 1100 shaft out to the island and leaving it there ! To many bikes here to store, and not enough time away from work to ride them all !...............RIDE SAFE EVERYONE..............tony :)

Hi Tony.
A grand selection of bikes you own. A shame your not able to find the time to ride them all ;) Only have the 3 as moved on the bikes that restored as do not have the time to ride them.
Never heard of Leicester? In the news big time as the place were King Richard 111 was found buried in a car park :woohoo: and just been laid to rest at the church. Google it. He was the last king to die on the battle field at Bosworth in 1485.
Re good biking roads in the UK. Have to ride up to Scotland for open roads and no traffic. Mind you Police in the UK are a pain and with all the speed cameras around your always looking over your shoulder.

How about the rarest Kaw?

Here's my 1974 W3 650 Roadster. It's a Japan only model that Kawasaki offered as a civilian answer to the Honda 750 Fours that the Japanese police rode. Note the front end from a Z1. This bike is completely stock.

If you notice that the side cases look like a BSA it's because it was produced under a license from BSA. I believe that the original BSA was an A7 which was a 500 CC vertical twin.
