I agree with you Kawboy, nothing like pure grunt and driving it to it's maximum. I too love the CBX, wouldn't mind getting one to have in my garage at some stage. Mind you I have a list of bikes I'd love to have in my dream garge.
Restored an 1976 Suzuki GT550B
Restored an 1982 Kawasaki Z1300 A4.
Also rides a 2014 Triumph Rocket Roadster, 2300cc of pure fun.

One of the items on my Bucket List is to take a ride in a fighter jet and go screaming up to the speed of sound at + 3 G's and pass through the speed of sound to the sound of silence. Then I'll know what heaven sounds like (cause I won't be going there.)

Then again, the sound of a CBX at 10,000 rpm and a six into one pipe at 240 kph gets me giddy too. (been there, done that, lived to tell the tale)

Just this last weekend I helped a buddy of mine drive a CBX home after he purchased it. We took turns cause we both wanted to test drive it for ourselves lol.

It was a great looking bike, 1983 or 84 I believe. Also was between 10 and 20 thousand miles. Had the fairings and trunk cases on the sides. Had a good amount of power when you got on it, but felt anemic when compared to the get up and go on my kz1300. I liked how responsive it was and that it felt lighter between my legs. I had particular trouble with the gearbox cause it had trouble finding second more often than not, and the shifter didn't provide the tactile feedback I was used to on my kz.

If it came down to one or the other for me I'd keep the KZ, but the CBX definitely looks like a more attractive bike to me aesthetically :).

Hi.
After restoring the Z1300 and as you do. Needed another project. So purchased the Z750. On going project and hope it turns out as well as yours. Rear end sorted and working my way forward.
Purchased the bike and been stored and not been given the service that required, major problem being the brake callipers. rear sorted, but on the look out for a good front calliper.
Had the carbs sorted and runs fine. Just need to pull my finger out and carry on with the restoration. Bonus being the electric start works. Does yours?

Hello AERIALO, ......I got a kick out of your question ending your post...."my starter works,does yours ?" Back in the 70's and 80's when I worked as a tech at the local KAW shop.... the 750 twin was a ever present bike up on the air lift for "starter" repair;
I recall that 9 out of 10 times the starter was not the problem , but it was always the 3 allen screws on the back side of the starter clutch that had backed out and are found to be gouging themselves into other places till the starter stops working....engine turns over hard....and the starter clutch is damaged. After the new parts were obtained, a generous dose of red loc-tight was applied to those same (but new) allen screws ......and after re-assembly and returned to the customer, we never saw one back for that problem again ! something to keep in mind for the future !.........................tony : :)

After getting my 1300 done ...I started restoring this 85".....but I must admit, I have been really dragging my feet on this project as well. that "arctic blast "that we just went thru .kinda took the wind out of my sails ! but I will get going on it again very soon.
