About 2 years ago I was looking for alternative solutions for a fuel-line set-up and stumbled upon this idea. I've been using standard stainless-steel braided water supply line as you might have in your home. The appearance is good and after 2 years of engine-heat and fuel there doesn't appear to be any degradation of the inner liner and the line itself is still as flexible as the day purchased, unlike (for example)clear PVC which gets hard and inflexible quickly. The problem I've been trying to solve is how to terminate the ends with a functional cover to keep the steel-braid ends intact plus have an equally aesthetic pleasing look. Here's what I've come up with. Note: There are 2 types of this water-supply hose available. One type has a true steel-braided outer jacket. The 2nd type has a silver synthetic woven braid which closely resembles the S/S, so be aware of your choice.

Yet another excellent article, Scotch, to add to the many already shared on this forum. The use of a bearing race to form the swage is a great idea. Are you an engineer by profession, may I ask?
Such is the scope of your contributions to this forum, it would be nice to collect them all into a reference book.
Regards,
Jim

Nope ! No formal training or education. Just a unique way at looking at things.
