Hi guys, me again, and I know I’m a pain in the butt.
The bike is running reasonably well, over 3000 revs it goes like a train, really responsive to the throttle.
The problem I have now is at tick over it’s a bit lumpy, and I need to keep blipping the throttle, unless I have the tickover above 1000 revs. When I’m riding it there seems to be a flat spot between 2500 revs and 3000 revs, after that it goes great.
I have balanced the carbs, and colour tuned them to Bunsen blue. If I take a spark plug out it’s a nice light straw colour. I have the main needles set to the middle position, would raising, or lowering them make any difference?

Hi McZed,

Where do you have your idle screws set? I'd start at 3.5 turns. Before I was satisfied with my set up I had my idle screws at 5 turns and the needle jets in the third notch. Mike at DG Performance told me to lower the needle jet a notch (raise the needle) and reset the idle jet to 3.5 turns. His advice got me going in the right direction.

I ended up with 96 mains, 3.5 turns on the idle screw and the circlip in the sixth notch, which works for me till I get back into the carbs again. When I do, I'll up the mains to 100's and return the circlip to the third notch.

Best of luck.
