Best method to free a stuck, frozen, seized gas cap?

It's been sitting for 2 days now with a healthy concoction of fluids but no joy yet.

Thought I'd ask before going all 'western' on it.

I see in an image that you posted of the motorcycle that the original gas tank fuel valve has been replaced with a vacuum membrane one.

Have you considered that the filler cap has also been changed and therefore its opening key does not match the ignition key?
It could be that you don't have that key.

Take that tank to a professional locksmith.

Or insert a metal rod through the fuel gauge hole and try to open the cap latch, I can't think of anything else.

Good eyes! Yep, Bob replaced the OEM petcock. I'm NOT a fan of vacuum petcocks, so this will be replaced, most likely a Pingle unit. I'm running a Pingle on the blue KZ and it's worked well.

I actually asked Bob if the cap was stock and used OEM key, he replied yes.

After reading Scotch's post below, I see the pivot pin can be pressed out then repair the cap on the bench.
