Hi all,

Bought a little Kaw Eliminator EL2500 for my wife to learn on. Petcock is different than others I have seen.

I have found the issue to be the fitting on the back that feeds the carbs. It is loose and swivels around, for the life of me I cannot find an o-ring to fit this shallow groove, so assume it wasn't meet for one.

I have instead tried the permashield fuel resistant sealer, and with no luck.

The fitting has a nice, loose press fit that allows it to move, but it also back out of the petcock easily , too easily.

Does anyone have any suggestions besides having the fitting welded into place?

See attachment for a view of the back and the fitting / groove I am speaking of.

Thanks.

If you could explain all of the connection points.

What tap or hose out of the tank is supplying fuel to the EL tap?

There is only one hose on the carbs and I see two delivery hoses on the EL tap.

For mounting a remote fuel tap, you could fabricate a sheet metal (Aluminum) bracket off of the original tap location????

In the attached Picture:

"ON" connects to the main tank.

"RES" connects to the Reserve Tank

The detached fitting connects to the carbs.

Yes, I could mount a generic valve from where this tap connects.

I've successfully plugged up gas leaks before using Quiksteel fuel tank repair tubes. Saved me twice from having to buy a whole new set of carburetors on an old Katana I used for commuting (the leaks were in places that were not repairable otherwise).

Just my 2 cents :).
