Glad to hear you got it sorted and thank you for posting what you found. it's hard to swallow that pill when told it's a repeat of  a previous problem that you previously fixed but your findings do reemphasize the fact that when confronted with a symptom you have to follow through with "Go with what you  know" Anytime you have an off idle to 2000 rpm issue, it's the pilot circuit 98% of the time. On rare occasions, it could be an ignition symptom or a valve timing issue but there would be more issues than just a bad tick over.
I'll also suggest that the fact you've had to repeat the cleaning process numerous times is no surprise. Crap that gets buried in the pilot circuit of the Mikuni BSW32's can be a real issue to flush out. Good tooling, proper solvents  and patience is needed to rectify the problem. You have the cleaning tool and you have the patience and probably the only thing holding you back here is the solvent issue. Scotch stumbled on the Lacquer Thinner solvent and I personally wouldn't have even thought of using lacquer thinner had it not been for Scotch. It just wouldn't have crossed my mind and I've used all kinds of solvents in the past like Zylene and Toluene.  Also, because Scotch and I are in Canada, our Lacquer Thinner fortunately is the same brand and we both had the same experience with success. Then we  find out Lacquer Thinner in the UK or Europe is a completely different product . So we need to bear this in mind when we discuss issues on the Forum.
So congrats on your success and thanks for following up.

I’ve found some 2K lacquer thinner from my local auto paint supplier. He’s a knowledgeable guy and I explained the situation re Canada v UK and he recommended the stuff I used. It does smell suspiciously like acetone to me but he reckons it’s used for thinning 2K clear lacquer that’s used to seal the paintwork on cars. Seems to have done the trick anyway. Fingers crossed

for the record, the Lacquer Thinner Scotch and I use is a brand called Solvable and I looked up the MSDS sheet to get the chemical composition which is

 Benzene   .1-1 %
Acetone      7-13 %
Methyl ethyl ketone   5-10%
Methanol    10-30%
 Toluene     40-70%

I wonder how long it will take for someone to blow-up their shop ?

A short run out last night (20odd miles) to a local bike meet and she behaved herself impeccably. She was the center of attention until I was completely upstaged when a guy on a Z13 turbo rolled up
the only fly in the ointment now is she does seem very finicky until fully warmed up but I can live with that.
I’ve removed the fast idle cam from the choke rail as it scares the bejesus out of me racing away on choke so that may have something to do with it?
I can’t make head nor tail of the manuals instructions on how to set this up so if someone could give me a step by step guide I would appreciate it.
