Just for the record:  Acetone and Lacquer Thinner are two completely different "solvents".

OK Scotch, I thought so. Lacquer thinner. In this country probably goes by another name. Cellulose thinner ? Turpentine ?  2K thinner ? 1K thinner ?.
What you buy in your country obviously works. Can you tell me what other applications it has, so i can look it up here so I'm getting the correct product to use.

I have no idea what that product is.   I can't elaborate on "Lacquer Thinner" anymore then kawboy already has.

For that ridiculous cost of shipping I can buy, in bulk, a 20 litre container.    And no.....I'm not going to become a "Lacquer Thinner  Distributor"

I'm pretty sure laquer thinner is just another name for cellulose thinners.

from kawboy, back a page or two:There's lots of reports of guys trying to sync their carbs and the intake vacuum at idle reported down at 7-8 in mercury. Scotch can chime in here. He just rebuilt his engine and I think his intake vacuum at idle jumped up to 10 In HG ??

I consider 7-8 "hg the norm. To be clear: the 10" that I achieved had to be "worked" for. It involved some ignition timing adjustments and some patience with a "Color Tune", using modified pilot needles. Frankly, all I accomplished was to prove this amount of vacuum could be achieved but ultimately reverted back to 8", with the corrected ignition timing. That's the "short" version.
