To answer your question, no hydraullic lifters.
I had to go back into your previous posts to find some history on your issue. Your bike is an 84 with DFI.
When you turn the key on does the fuel pump hum?
Have you tried pulling the injectors out of the throttle bodies and placing the injectors in a set of cups, then try to flip the bike over and witness the injectors spraying?
Have you done a compression check to see if you have bent valves? Backfiring is not good. If the cam drive chain was loose, you may have jumpped a tooth and the cams are out of time.
In a prevous post it was suggested that you have the injectors professionally cleaned and tested. Did you do that or what did you do?
It's almost impossible to flood a DFI unless the injectors are bleeding down after shutdown, If a DFI doesn't fire within a couple of turns of the crankshaft, there is something really wrong. Most DFI systems when you turn on the key will run up the fuel pump and pressurize the system then the pressure control valve opens and dumps excess pressure back to the tank. If the injectors are leaking, then the injectors will be spraying when the key is on and the engine is not being cranked. Sure sign of dirty injectors and underr this condition, flooding will occur.
