Hi
Out for my first ride yesterday after getting my rear shocks rebuilt, ( good job by rad shocks, thanks RickG ) all went well until I pulled into a servo to get some petrol and my key only goes in the fuel cap lock about half way. Luckily I managed to get home on reserve but anyone got fix for this.
I have been wd40 it all day but no luck yet...... Might have to take whole tank to a locksmith??
Any help appreciated
Cheers

Sounds like a tumbler has either seized or has popped out and blocked the key passage...I would go the locksmith route

Be aware - on Ebay - "KAWASAKI 1979-1982 80 KZ1300A1/A2/A3/A4/B2 Fuel Gas Cap Tank Petrol Cover &Keys"

There is no vent on these Knock-offs.

theres a small roll pin just under the back of the cap.
use a small pin punch to tap it out then you will be able to lift the filler cap off..

I took my tank lock apart on my A5 to re-key it only to find it didn't actually have any wafers:

You can stick any key in there to open the cap.
