I've taking my carbs apart to rebuild them, in the carb kit, there is a different choke shaft in the new kit, the old rod has a pin at the end and the new one don't have a pin, should I use my old rod or is there a new and improve rod ???????

Yep that is confusing. I just used the old ones because I figured that pin was helping to centre the rod (aka Starter Plunger). That plunger has a sort of sealing gasket where the pin is and if that is in tact I don't see any reason why you can't use the old one. Having said that there are many folks here who are much more knowledgeable about this than myself.

I think most people, myself included, just decided to carry on using the old ones

I put the new ones in, will take them out when I get around to it, full choke is too much, and she starts better with less than half choke, I guess the "pin" would also limit the amount of fuel getting out, live and learn
after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF
