Hi,
I seem to recall the mod was just shortening the screw that holds the cone shaped assembly in place. When the tap heats up, it sticks and shortening the screw helps. I have just added a manual shut-off valve to my fuel line after the original, leaving the original in reserve position. The original tap can leak through in closed position, possibly causing serious damage due to hydraulic lock in cylinder when starting.

Brgs, Lare

I changed mine to a Pingel fuel tap bought on fleabay. See the fuel line routing thread on here. It was a bit on the expensive side but it is a quality item and a vast improvement on the original.

The search tab can be a bit of a pain to work with but I found the reference. It was Scotch who had posted a repair to the tap and here's the post.

Lare sort of had the correct answer, only I put a washer under the screw head that holds the guts of the tap in (split washer, M5 I think) & that stops the screw bearing so heavily in the groove it protrudes into. I also greased all the sliding surfaces inside.
