I just spent the summer painting my '80 B2 Touring. Since I took this photo, I've added some rubber knee pads (from an old BMW) to the tank, and some badges and reflectors to the luggage and fairing to break up the Arctic-like expanses of white!
I reserve the right to turn it into a "fantasy police bike" some day. In the meantime, the bright white really catches other motorists' attention -- which is always good when you're riding . . .
I take the fairing lowers off in the summer. The engine runs cooler, and -- more importantly -- the rider stays cooler. The fairing lowers trap a lot of heat -- but that's good when the weather is cool.
