In my case "necessity is the Mother of Invention." I needed a taillight since my purchase didn't have one. I went shopping on EBay and found originals with a crazy price and to tell the truth, I wasn't fond of the oval lens. While shopping I stumbled across a GPZ 900 tail lamp and fell in love with it so I bought it.
Next comes the fact that I'm heart broken over selling my CBX 1000. It handled like a pig but that massive engine turned heads. And the sound of it screaming at 9500 woke up the Ferrari heart beat in me. That being said, I decided to spoof my KZ to look like a water cooled CBX. I have a lot of work to go and right now I'm stalled out with camshaft grinding and I promised myself to finish one aspect at a time. Otherwise, I'll have parts everywhere.
I'll flash up some pics of where I'm at with the tailpiece on my post so you can see them.
