I have a 1979 KZ1300 and I would like to know if the engine from a 1990 voyager will fit right in there or not

Hi Georgi,

The 1990 Voyager is a four cylinder 1200. Your KZ1300 is a six cylinder 1300. They are totally different machines. That's not to say you couldn't chop, shoehorn and weld a four cylinder engine into a frame designed for a six cylinder engine but while you were about it you would have to move the drive shaft from the right side on the 1300 to the left side for the 1200 engine/transmission.

I'd say it's a no go.

Why would you want to put that engine into a 1300 frame?The Voyager 1200 engine had a problematic transmission and you would also be missing the sweet sound of the six!

One reason I can think of is that the frame or at least the steering head and forks on the 1200's are wobbly junk.
