Mileage

If I fill my tank, with the bike on the side stand, I get around 130 miles before the gauge goes into the red. I don’t know if this is good or bad, how many miles to the tankfull does everyone else on here get?
I should mention, my bike is a 1979 KZ 1300. imported from sunny California.

The reason I was asking is because my bike seems to use a lot of fuel, I know they are renowned for high fuel consumption but mine drinks it like it was a V8 or something.

I never got better than 42mpg and thats an imperial gallon. There were a few places round Oz that fuel was unavailable and I could stretch it to get 42 by sitting at about 105kph (65mph) but as soon as I upped the speed a bit I was at risk of not making that stretch at night when some towns are "closed till Monday". That is so they can have a day off to polish their necks till they glow. :silly:
