Fan Switch temperature Sensor

Hello All,
has anyone made a repair to a Fan Switch Sensor when the connector spade has broken, if so what sort of repair did you do. Has anyone used a self tapping screw to replace the spade and connected a terminal to that.

I used a screwdriver and dug out the sealant around the broken spade connection and got down to a decent area where I just gently soldered on a new spade then just filled around it with a bit of araldite (epoxy resin), good as new, many miles and still working, cheers Pete

Yea Pete sounds good to me, don't intend to scrap them as replacements aren't cheap, have 2 to repair from boxes of bits that I have, so any ideas are good ideas

Sometimes it is a lot cheaper to match it with a commonly used car part.
Not that I have done it with this switch but I have done with heaps of other bike temp oil switches even fan motors on bmw's etc.
Tridon carry quite a few and are available at just about every spare parts shop here in aus.

There was a thread or post somewhere here where someone drilled and tapped out the hole and used a different switch, you just have to make sure it switches on at the right temperature, forget what temp they said it works at sorry

85 degrees celcius is apparently is what you want.
