paint colour

Just trying to jog some members memories here if I can, I recently purchased a sample pot of aluminous starlight blue paint from rs paints in the UK to suit the 79 model original colour, I have had this sprayed onto a piece of steel plate as a sample and found it to look near black until you look at it from a different angle.
What I am wanting to know can you remember the colour and if so was it a real dark near black colour or was it reasonably light, as said at different angles and light you can see the bluey green colour but as it sits on the coffee table it virtually looks black ?

Funny just picked up a starlight blue tail fin, looks the same as you describe but next to the tank dependent on lighting you can see the green or blue confusing eh. My thoughts are it is not far from a BRG (British Racing Green)Maybe I need to see the optician. Recently i.e last week seen a bike that is in it's original Starlight Blue the owner had a can of RS Paint for touch up, from what I could see that is a perfect color match. Going forward I will be re-painting using that color. See some phots attached all in starlight blue believe it or not.

Thanks for info and pictures Mark, yes it is a funny colour as you mentioned. I just took a photo of mine to see if it looked similar to yours and as the flash went off you could see the colour a lot better so hopefully alls good.
