Hi, I'm Brandon Thompson from Baker,Louisiana. I bought a used 1980 Kz1300 touring for $200 a couple months ago. It needs work, although I believe it will run once I change the fluids. I've already rebuilt the carbs, and cleaned the fuel tank, and about to change all fluids. I've also taken off the whole touring package and will make it a regular bike, without the touring stuff. Thanks for any help or advice anyone has. God Bless!

Welcome to the club. I see you're well on your way. I'd advise you to go through the FAQ tab on this forum and get yourself familiarized with the idiosyncrasies with your new machine. The cam chain tensioner update is a must. Above all, don't get frustrated during your conversion rebuild. We're here to help.
I second Homer01's request for pics. We'd love to see where you're at and follow through on your adventure.

Hi and welcome Brandon to the KZ1300 Forum. We just about all started with a project Z1300 and in time you shall get yours sorted. Took me over 18 months to bring mine back from the grave as some times hard to find spares that required to complete. Photo's would be good when your ready. UK based member.
